EURATEX supports the Digital Product Passport: when well designed, the DPP can drive sustainability across Europe’s textile value chain

News

EURATEX has expressed its support for the introduction of a Digital Product Passport (DPP) for apparel under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), recognising its potential to strengthen transparency, circularity and competitiveness across the European textile and apparel sector — provided it is designed in a practical and proportionate way.

As a key measure under the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, the DPP aims to bring essential product information together in a harmonised digital format. For EURATEX, this represents a valuable opportunity to improve how data on fibre composition, durability, repairability and end‑of‑life options is shared across the value chain.

Leveraging collective action to decarbonise supply chains: the Carbon Reduction Initiative of the European Outdoor Group

Best practices

A growing share of the environmental impact of the outdoor sportswear and equipment industry lies upstream, in global supply chains that individual companies can influence only to a limited extent.
