Themed discussion: digitalisation in the textiles ecosystem
Discussion Forum

Digitalisation is reshaping the textiles ecosystem, driving sustainability and innovation. The European Commission’s new Competitiveness Compass highlights digital transformation as a key driver to boosting productivity, closing the innovation gap, and enabling climate-neutral growth. In the textiles ecosystem, digital tools support circular business models, improve resource efficiency, and help companies scale sustainably.
But what does this mean in practice?
What skills are needed for digital transformation in textiles? How can we ensure people are equipped and trained effectively?
Which digital tools enhance sustainability and innovation in the textiles ecosystem? What existing solutions are available, and what gaps still need to be addressed?
How can we encourage digital adoption across the ecosystem, particularly for smaller companies?
